Collingwood thinks spinner Swann should open the batting

London, Apr.21 (ANI): England cricket captain Paul Collingwood thinks that ace off-spinner Graeme Swann's can work his golden magic touch with the bat as well in the Caribbean.

According to The Mirror, Swann may now be chasing batting glory during the World T20 tournament.

He is no stranger at the top of the order for Nottinghamshire, having played most of his domestic T20 as an opener.

But he has never played there for England. Swann is a proven match-winner with the ball and is expected to add the England player of the year award to his gong as one of Wisden's five cricketers of the year.

Collingwood said: "We have thought about putting Graeme Swann up top as an opening batsman. Sometimes going into a World Cup, an X-factor like that is a very good thing to have up your sleeve because the opposition may not know what is coming." (ANI)
