Kolkata, Jun 20 (PTI) Chandigarh stormed into the semi-final of the National Junior Football Championship for Dr B C Roy Trophy with a 2-0 upset win over last year''s runners-up Orissa at the Yuba Bharati Krirangan here today. In another quarterfinal league match of the day, hosts Bengal rode on a four-goal effort by T Lalnunpuia to keep their hopes alive with a 4-2 win over Manipur at the Mohun Bagan ground. Chandigarh have now placed themselves on the top of the group B standings with six points from two matches, while Bengal are on second spot with four points. Orissa have one point while Manipur are yet to open their account. One match is left for each team and the top two teams will make the last four knock-out round. Chandigarh took an early lead after being awarded a penalty in their favour early into the start. Akashdeep Singh converted from the spot in the sixth minute to give Chandigarh an early lead. He also struck the second goal two minutes before the regulation time. Lalnunpuia, who had scored nine goals in their thumping 27-0 win over Puducherry earlier, struck in the ninth, 14th, 53rd and 62nd minute to complete the rout. Manipur scored twice in the second-half to reduce the margin. For Manipur, Ashok Singh converted a penalty in the 48th minute, while Y Jetlee Singh found the back of the net in the 57th minute.
