New Delhi, Oct 12 (PTI) The fusion of Indian music and jazz amid synchronised beats of drums by Hariharan, Sivamani and Louis Banks cast a magical spell on athletes and foreign delegates at Commonwealth Games Village here today. The trio gave a scintillating performance at a jam-packed amphitheater here. The performance, which began by Padharo Mare Desh (visit my country), filled with the eastern and western musical instrument beats, enthralled the people. Later, Hariharan, a known Indian playback singer, dressed in black colour Indian traditional outfit and a maroon long jacket, sung scores of other songs composed by him including Tu Hi Re. Giving him company was, Shivamani, who had donned white overalls and his distinguished white-colour scarf, made people dance to his drum beats. Grammy Award nominated, Louis Banks gave a rhythmic jazz performance to the audience. Louis, often known as the Godfather of Indian Jazz, was much appreciated by the audience for giving innovative style of musical blend to other two musicians during the performance. The programme was part of the cultural events being organised by the Delhi Government at the Games Village here to entertain athletes and international delegates living here since October 3. The event will conclude on Thursday.
