New Delhi, Oct 14 (PTI) The Rs 44 crore worth aerostat that was the centre of attraction during the Opening Ceremony of the Commonwealth Games, remained almost a mute spectator suspended 25 metres above the ground at the Closing Ceremony of the Delhi sporting extravaganza here today. Besides the occasional videos that were played on the 360 degree projection surface of the aerostat, it remained without much action. The only time that the world''s largest helium balloon actually came alive in all its colours was when the ''golden moments'' of the Games was played out and also when the Scots performed. In stark contrast, during the Opening Ceremony, the aerostat had captivated everyone inside the stadium. It was a terrific moment then as the aerostat went up amidst shouts of joy, fireworks and drum beats. It had remained the centre of attraction throughout the event. However this time, the aerostat''s underbelly made of mirrors that reflected the lighting, was also missing. Many a times, it just looked like a large white spaceship hanging right in front of the eyes.
