Manisha hands LIC Club its maiden title

Talented batswoman Manisha gave brilliant all round performance (73 no and 2 for 12) to help LIC Cricket Club beat GMSSS, Sector 56 Club, by 18 runs to claim their maiden title during the State Women Cricket Championship (U-16) for Kailash Bahl Trophy held in Chandigarh.

Batting first, LIC Club posted a total of 116 runs for the loss of five wickets in 20 overs. Manisha topscored with an unbeaten knock of 73 runs. She stayed at the crease till the end to help LIC Club make 116 runs. She was ably supported by Kavita who chipped in with 31 runs. In reply to the total, GMSSS, Sector56 Club, got off to a bad start losing two wickets within a total of 10 runs. Mala, Sony and Manisha claimed two wickets a piece.Manisha was adjudged as the woman of the match while Reena of GMSSS-56 Club was adjudged as the best bowler of the tournament.

Meanwhile, the organisers announced trials to select women team for upcoming T20 national tournament to be held in Ludhiana will be conducted at IS Dev Samaj Sr. Sec. School,Sector 21, Chandigarh, on September 1 at 3.00pm.
