Nagpur, November 22 (PTI) Delighted at having as big a first Test wicket as Sachin Tendulkar, New Zealand paceman Andy McKay "aplogised" to the Indian public for denying the maestro of what would have been his 50th Test century. "I apologise to the crowd," he smiled when asked how it felt to disappoint millions of fans who were anticipating Tendulkar''s 50th Test ton. The iconic batsman was dismissed for 61. "I am very happy to have got Sachin''s wicket. A few more would have been great," said the left-arm quick bowler. Questioned on what exactly was the plan to get Tendulkar out, he said, "I wanted to bowl a quick delivery. It was a quick delivery and it produced the result." McKay is still hopeful that New Zealand will be able to save the Test match if they can bat session by session. "The pitch is still pretty flat but there''s some turn on offer. Also it''s keeping up and down at times. The first session will be very crucial and we have to take it from there on. Obviously we need to bat deep into the fifth day." McKay lauded Rahul Dravid''s innings stating that the batsman showed lot of patience waiting for the loose deliveries. "The idea was to bowl straight at him and we were successful. Whenever we erred in our plan, he punished the loose balls in the region between cover and mid-wicket," he concluded.
