Kolkata, July 30 -- Diego Forlan, the Uruguay striker who won the golden ball in the 2010 World Cup, has come to Kolkata on a three day visit. Forlan who reached the city with his super model girlfriend Zaira Nara on Thursday, spent the day away from public glare. Forlan has come to the city on the invitation of a newly launched Bengali television channel. He is supposed to be present at a football match between Mohun Bagan XI and Challenger XI (a team formed as a part of a football reality show) at the Yuva Bharati Krirangan in Salt lake on August 1. Forlan scored five goals in the World Cup to win the golden ball. Forlan played a pivotal role in taking his country, a two-time champion of the World Cup, to the first semi finals in four decades. Down the years Kolkata has played host to a number of football greats starting with Pele in 1977. The ones to visit later were Zico, Ger Muller, Diego Maradona, Oliver Kahn, Branco, Romario, Lothar Mattehaus and Karl Heinz Rumminege.
