Bhupathi-Mirnyi in title clash of Tour Finals

London, Nov 28 (PTI) Mahesh Bhupathi and Max Mirnyi earned a shot at their first ever World Tour title after dismantling Mariusz Fyrstenberg and Marcin Matkowski in the semifinals here. The third seeded Indo-Belarussian pair scored a 6-4 6-4 win over the Polish pair to reach the final. This is Bhupathi and Mirnyi''s fourth straight win over the Poles this season. They will fight it out with second seeds and winners of 2008 edition Daniel Nestor and Nenad Zimonjic, who shocked top seeds Mike and Bob Bryan 6-3 3-6 12-10 in their semifinal. This is for the first time that Bhupathi and Mirnyi have reached the finals as in all three earlier attempts, they had failed to go beyond the group stage in 2003 and 2004. Bhupathi had missed the Asian Games to participate in the season-ending grand finale. The third seeds broke the Poles in the seventh game when Fyrstenberg committed a forehand volley error. Mirnyi later went on to seal the set with a service hold to 15 in the 10th game. The Poles then saved three break points in the first game but dropped serve in the third game and Bhupathi and Mirnyi established a 3-1 lead after a hold. From there on it was hardly a problem for the third seeds.
