Karachi, Nov 29(ANI): Former Pakistan wicketkeeper Zulqarnain Haider's family has reportedly received threatening calls after the player said that he would expose people involved in corruption in Pakistan cricket.
"Zulqarnain's wife got three calls today, two from an unknown number and one from a number in Greece in which the caller speaking in Urdu threatened her of dire consequences if Zulqarnain said anything about anyone," The News quoted Aqeel Haider, the player's brother, as saying.
He said that the calls came after Zulqarnain wrote on his Facebook page that he would soon expose people who had taken bribes.
"All these people who are saying negative things about me...they should wait for five more days then I will show them my background and status. After five days I will show them their background and place and also those who don't take money and those who have taken money," Haider wrote on the social-networking site.
Haider had fled to London after allegedly receiving death threats from match-fixers when he was in Dubai for the ODI series between Pakistan and South Africa.
The 24-year-old is apparently miffed by negative remarks about him by Pakistan's ODI captain Shahid Afridi, manager Intikhab Alam and the PCB legal advisor Tafazzul Rizvi.
Zulqarnain was a squad member of the recent Pakistan tour of England, which degenerated into chaos when Test captain Salman Butt, Mohammad Asif and Mohammad Amir were suspended over spot-fixing allegations. (ANI)
