Oval ODI: ICC clean chit for Pakistani cricketers

Karachi, Oct 13 (IANS) The International Cricket Council (ICC) says it has failed to find any evidence of wrongdoing by Pakistani cricketers in the third One-day International against England at The Oval last month.

'Following extensive investigations into allegations about the One-Day International between England and Pakistan at The Oval in London Sep 17, the Anti-Corruption and Security Unit has verified all the available information and concluded that there was no compelling evidence to suspect individual players or support staff,' an ICC media release said Wednesday.

'The investigation is now complete but if new and corroborating evidence comes to light then clearly the ACSU will re-open the matter,' it added.

Last month, the ICC dropped a bombshell by announcing that it had launched an investigation into the third ODI after receiving information that certain scoring patterns during the match were fixed.
