London, July 20(ANI): French footballers Franck Ribery and Karim Benzema have been reportedly questioned by the police, as part of an investigation into an alleged under-age prostitution ring.
They were questioned at the request of an investigating magistrate looking into allegations that a Paris nightclub gave access to under-age girls working as prostitutes.
One of the young women who allegedly met the players at the club has already testified to the investigators that she had relations with the two players when she was still under age, The Telegraph reports.
Both players have denied any wrong-doing.
Ribery had earlier said that he had sex with the woman, but insists he did not know she was a minor.
Under French law, paid sex with someone under the age of 18 is regarded as sex with a minor, and punishable by three years in jail and a fine of 45,000 euros. (ANI)
