Jharkhand Wrestling Association secretary expelled

Ranchi, Sep 29 (PTI) Jharkhand Olympic Association today expelled state wrestling association (JWA) general secretary Bhola Nath Singh for filing complaints against senior JOC members with the state Vigilance Bureau. "The JOC working committee has expelled him (Bhola Nath Singh) and also dis-affiliated Jharkhand Wrestling Association (JWA)," said National Games Organising Committee (NGOC) secretary S M Hasmi. The decision was taken in the wake of Singh filing a complaint against Hasmi, NGOC working chairman R K Anand, treasurer Madhukant Pathak and ex-director of the sports, P C Mishra. Hitting back at the JOC''s decision, Singh said "I am the general secretary of JWA and will remain so as it is affiliated to Indian Wrestling Association, and JOA has no power." "We are organising senior national wrestling championship in December here," he said. "I have complained against them only after the High Court directed me to approach the vigilance bureau after I moved the court in connection with massive monetary irregularities in the purchase of equipment and construction of infrastructure, Singh added. "If they think speaking the truth is rebellion against them, I will be happy to be called a rebel," Singh said. In his complaint, Singh had alleged that purchase of sports equipment was in excess of actual requirement without any tender for the 34th National Games, earlier slated to be held in Jharkhand. The state government had already expressed its inability to hold the Games, scheduled from December 9, stating that the event might clash with the dates of the proposed panchayat elections.
