England opt to bat in final South Africa test

England have won the toss and elected to bat in the fourth and final test against South Africa at the Wanderers on Thursday.

The visitors made one change to their team, replacing seam bowler Graham Onions, whose defiance with the bat at number 11 helped save the first and third tests, with swing bowler Ryan Sidebottom.

South Africa have named two new caps in their team, introducing pace bowlers Wayne Parnell and Ryan McLaren for the injured Friedel de Wet and slow bowler Paul Harris.

England lead the series 1-0 while South Africa need a win to retain the Basil D'Oliveira Trophy.

Teams

South Africa - Graeme Smith (captain), Ashwell Prince, Hashim Amla, Jacques Kallis, AB de Villiers, JP Duminy, Mark Boucher, Ryan McLaren, Morne Morkel, Dale Steyn, Wayne Parnell.

England - Alastair Cook, Andrew Strauss (captain), Jonathan Trott, Kevin Pietersen, Paul Collingwood, Ian Bell, Matt Prior, Stuart Broad, Graeme Swann, Ryan Sidebottom, Jimmy Anderson.
