New Delhi, Feb. 3 -- The Indian Premiere League has bought a "terrorism" insurance cover of Rs 250 crore for the 60-match tournament that begins on March 12.

There is a premium on players bought at an auction. A group personal accident policy covers every player bought at an auction for between Rs 3 crore to Rs 12 crore. This variable amount works out to about seven times his match fee. Players not bought at auctions have a lower cover of about Rs 25 lakh to Rs 1 crore.
