Indian golfer Jeev Milkha Singh saved his best for the last as he carded a sparkling four-under 66 in the final round to rise 16 rungs and sign off tied 45th in the Greenbrier Classic golf tournament here.

Jeev ended his campaign with a total of 10-under 270 after striking five birdies against just a lone bogey in the final round.

However, the other Indian in fray, Arjun Atwal, dropped down the leaderboard tied 68th after his worst card of the week -- a one-over 71 -- left him six-under 274 overall.

It was not the kind of start that Jeev would have wanted as he went one-over after just two holes courtesy a bogey on the second hole.

But he more than made up for the lapse by striking birdies on the fifth, sixth and ninth to make the turn two-under.

The Chandigarh-pro then played out a flawless back-nine that also included birdies on the 13th and 17th holes.

In contrast, an erratic Atwal went on to stumble to four bogeys against three birdies in his topsy-turvy round.

At the top, Australian Stuart Appleby made a stunning final round surge to clinch the trophy. Appleby turned in an astonishing blemishfree 11-under 59, which included nine birdies and an eagle, in the final round to total 22-under 258.

Overnight leader Jeef Overton (67) finished second with a total of 259.
