Gangtok, Sep 15 (PTI) The Sikkim Sports Academy team has reached the semi-finals of the 2nd Kumar Gram Open Football Championship at Kumar Gram near Alipurduar in West Bengal. The SSA topped pool-B in the league round of the tournament which got underway on Sept 2. In its first match, played on Sept 11, the Sikkim team defeated Kumar Gram Dwar 4-0. Nima Tamang of SSA was declared as the man of the match. The second match against Assam Football Club on September 12 ended in a draw with the scoreline tied at 5-5. An SSA player, Bidhan, was adjudged man of the match. Playing its last league match on Sept 13, SSA thrashed Sankosh TG 8-0 and the man of the match was again from SSA, Bijay Subba. After topping pool-B, SSA will now take the runner-up team of pool A in the semi-final match scheduled for September 16.
