Sotogrande (Spain), Oct 29 (PTI) Shiv Kapur turned in a steady two-under 69 to be the highest-placed Indian golfer at tied fourth after the opening round of the Andalucia Valderrama Masters here. On a day when sub-par cards were not easy to come by, Kapur sent down four birdies against a couple of bogeys to be three strokes off the pace. Seasoned-pro Jeev Milkha Singh was a shot adrift of the Delhi golfer at tied sixth after managing three birdies and two bogeys in his opening day card. SSP Chowrasia, meanwhile, was part of the huge list which could not break par at the Club de Golf Valderrama. He was tied for the 15th spot after an erratic even-par 71, which comprised four birdies, two bogeys and a double bogey. Local favourite Pablo Larrazabal took the top spot with a blemish-free 66, which had five birdies -- two in the front-nine and three in the back-nine. Graeme McDowell and Damien McGrane shared the second position after returning identical 68s.
