New Delhi, March 19 -- The former Delhi cricketer and a member of the 1983 World Cup squad, Sunil Valson, was relieved of his IPL duties as a vice-president of GMR Sports on Thursday, reportedly because of a scuffle with IPL CEO Sundar Raman before the Mumbai Indians vs Delhi Daredevils game on Wednesday. It has been learnt that the IPL official had asked for a parking pass before the game. "Somehow, either through a delay or because the request for the pass was denied (since the GMR official didn't recognise the IPL official), there was a heated exchange and a scuffle ensued, wherein the IPL official was slapped by him (Valson) and his colleagues," said a source. The issue was reported and was dealt with. "As of now, Valson will not participate in the IPL and has been asked to stay away from the Kotla," the source, who did not want to be identified, added. Valson could not be seen at the Kotla on Friday.
