MCA Red defeated Nanded DCA, thanks to the superior first innings lead in the Senior Super League tournament at the Katariya High School ground on Saturday.
MCA won the toss and put the opposition in to bat. Nanded managed to score 239 runs in 69 overs before being bowled out in their first innings. Sunil Jadhav top scored with 58 runs and played some deft strokes en route to his half century. Sunil Taur supported him well with 57 runs.
Sardar Shaikh and Vijay Kalamse contributed a good total with some handy knocks to their team. For MCA, Vikrant Nimhan was the pick of the bowlers scalping 4 wickets for 45 runs while Sandeep Adole and Saurabh Shingvi supported him well with 2 wickets of their own.
In reply, MCA piled on a huge total of 409 runs for the loss of six wickets in 86 overs before the play was stopped due to bad light. Rahul Desai was the star performer of the day with his incredible knock of 138 runs. He showed no mercy to the bowlers as he smashed the ball to every nook and corner. Ankit Taware played a good knock of 61 not out and and shared a good partnership with Atiq Qureshi, who scored an unbeaten 53. For Nanded, Sunil Yadav picked up 2 wickets for 97 runs.
