New Delhi, April 17 (ANI): Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader and former Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Lal Krishan Advani on Saturday blamed the Government of using its might to save the Union Minister of State for External Affairs Shashi Tharoor in the ongoing Kochi Indian Premier League team controversy.

In the wake of the controversy over Tharoor's alleged role in an IPL team getting murkier with each passing day, Advani also said that Tharoor is not fit to be a minister.

Advani, meanwhile, has also demanded from the government to probe if the funds for Indian Premier League were coming from foreign, an NDTV report stated.

Tharoor is facing allegations of having misused office to get sweat equity valued at Rs 70 crore for his friend Sunanda Pushkar in the Kochi IPL franchise.

Tharoor's fate has been hanging in balance ever since the controversy broke with a tweet from IPL Commissioner Lalit Modi, as everyone waited for the Prime Minister to return.(ANI)
