New Delhi, April 17 (ANI): While the Opposition is hard bent on seeking a statement in the Parliament by Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh on Union Minister of State for External Affairs Shashi Tharoor-Kochi IPL ongoing controversy, the PM on Saturday said "Politics has its ups and downs."

Prime Minister reacted on the row while being on board Air India special aircraft. He was returning to India after an eight-day official tour to the U.S. and Brazil.

Tharoor is being targeted by the Opposition parties in the Parliament over his alleged role in Kochi IPL team.

On Friday, Tharoor stated that that he had not misused his official position and his mentoring the Kerala consortium of the Kochi IPL franchise was within the "bounds of appropriate conduct" as an MP from Thiruvananthapuram.

In the Parliament, the Opposition members have raised the Tharoor's alleged involvement in the Kochi IPL issue and blamed him of misusing his official position to help his friend Sunanda Pushkar get sweat equity worth Rs. 70 crore in the IPL Kochi franchise.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister arrived in New Delhi on Saturday afternoon. (ANI)
