Kolkata, Apr 3 (PTI) Kolkata Knight Riders spinner Murali Kartik is down with a niggle and is a doubtful starter for his side''s return leg Indian Premier League match against Kings XI Punjab at the Eden Gardens here tomorrow. Even as the team management remained tightlipped about the left-arm spinner''s injury, sources said he has developed some back problem. "He was taken to a city hospital for an MRI. It''s all precaution," said a KKR source. Kartik incidentally did not turn up for the optional practice in the evening today. Coach Dav Whatmore during the media interaction hinted that his side might have an injury concern but refused to give further details. "It''s difficult to answer. We have one or may have. I don''t really know and is not quite sure. It''s not the time to tell you," Whatmore said when asked whether his side has any injury concerns. Kartik, who has taken five wickets from seven matches with a tidy economy rate of 5.96, is a vital cog in the Knight Riders bowling attack. In Kartik''s likely absence, Mumbai leg-spinner Iqbal Abdulla might be picked.
