Mumbai, Jul 2 (PTI) The Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Jamtha is the front runner to host the third and final India-New Zealand Test match, which was originally allotted to the Mumbai Cricket Association, in November. "Nagpur is likely to host the Test match," sources in the BCCI said. The match is scheduled from November 20-24 and was allotted to MCA by the Board. But MCA backed off saying its Wankhede Stadium would not be in a position to host the match as it is currently undergoing renovation and would need to host a few first-class ties on its newly laid turf. If the Test match is allotted to the new VCA Stadium, a top class venue which has been praised by the International Cricket Council, it will be the sixth international fixture at this stadium in 24 months. The first fixture at this venue was the Test match between India and Australia in November 2008 while the last one was the India-South Africa Test played in February this year. The stadium has hosted two ODIs, one each against Australia and Sri Lanka, besides one T20 International against Sri Lanka in its short stint as an international venue. PTI SSR AMA PM
