Anti doping panel to hear cases Sep 22

New Delhi, Sep 10 (IANS) Six wrestlers, two swimmers and two athletes, who tested positive for banned drug methylhexanamine, will face the anti-doping disciplinary panel for a hearing Sep 22.

Wrestlers -- Arjuna awardee Rajiv Tomar (120kg), Sumit (74kg), Mausam Khatri 96kg) and woman wrestler Gursharanpreet Kaur (72 kg), swimmers Richa Mishra and Jyotsna Pansari, and shot putter Saurabh Vij and discus thrower Akash Antil were part of the Indian team for the Oct 3-14 Games.

Rahul Mann (60kg) and Joginder Singh (55 kg) were the other two wrestlers.

The hearing of netball player Megha Chaudhary, a Commonwealth Games probable, who tested positive for steroids, will be Sep 20.

The B-samples of these players have also returned positive and they now face the panel headed by retired sessions judge Dinesh Dayal.

Amar Muralidharan was the third swimmer to be tested positive for methylhexanamine, but he is not part of the Commonwealth Games squad. He, however, Friday asked for his B-samples to be sent for testing.

National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) had asked for a quick hearing keeping in mind the upcoming Commonwealth Games.
