Boon, Cox or Hughes face sack following Chappell's CA full-time selector appointment

Melbourne, Oct 26(ANI): One of Australia's cricket selectors -David Boon, Jamie Cox or Merv Hughes - will reportedly be sacked after a Cricket Australia (CA) board meeting in Melbourne on Friday.

The need to give the marching orders to one of the selectors has arisen because of Greg Chappell's recent appointment as the country's first full-time selector, increasing the panel from four to five.

According to the Daily Telegraph, Boon and Cox are under the most pressure because some board members are unhappy with the conflict of interest that surrounds both men.

Cox is South Australia's high-performance manager, while Boon holds an executive role with Tasmanian cricket.

Hughes has also been criticized for running overseas tour group operations while working as touring selector.

Chairman of selectors Andrew Hilditch would play a major role in dismissing one of his panel members, as he would make a recommendation to the 14 CA Directors. (ANI)
