MP to face Goan challenge in Plate division match

Indore, October 31 (PTI) Aiming elevation into elite zone, hosts Madhya Pradesh will begin their campaign against Goa in the Group A Plate division at the Holkar Stadium here tomorrow. The hosts had missed the bus last year with rain acting spoilsport in many of their matches. "Our aim is to play in the elite group and every Ranji Trophy match is equally important. We have to take this match as a knock out match, which would help us in achieving our goal," MP skipper Devendra Bundela said. "Our players are doing well and all are in good form. We will be playing with three seamers and two spinners. The wicket is lush green and it will be helpful for the medium pacers to take advantage of the green top," he added. Goa skipper Sagun Kamat said though he had a good squad at his disposal, his team would not underestimate Madhya Pradesh, which is playing on homeground. "Our team is well balanced and we will go for win," he said. Squads Madhya Pradesh: Devendra Bundela(c), Naman Ojha, Jalaj Saxena, Abbas Ali, Mohnish Mishra, Harpreet Singh, Murtaza Ali, Zafar Ali, Amarjeet Singh, Asif Ali, T Sudheendra, Ishwar Pandey, Ankit Sharma, Rameez Khan and Anand Rajan.
