Deepak Jain Fri, Jan 15 10 03:09 PM

Panaji, Jan 15 (PTI) Sporting Clube de Goa will strive to taste their first win in this year''s ONGC I-League football tournament when they take on defending champion Churchill Brothers in a 10th-round match at the Nehru Stadium in Margao tomorrow. Sporting are lying at the bottom of the tally with four points and yet to win a match. They played with vigour against Mahindra United and had a good chance to script their first win after taking lead at the first half, but later allowed Mahindra to score two goals in the last quarter of the match. Coach Vishwas Gauncar, however, was unmoved by the setback and hoping his wards play to the plan tomorrow to upset Churchill, who are placed fourth with 17 points from nine matches. Churchill, with three regular defenders -- Thokchom Naoba Singh, Robert Lalthlamuana and Rowilson will not play tomorrow due to injury, roles of junior duo -- Obagbemiro and Nathaniel Amos are going to be important. Churchill coach Carlos Pereira said, "We can not underestimate our opponent as they are a good side who will look to bounce back after string of defeats to avoid the relegation." PTI MCS RRN DB
