Rajput bags silver at WC

New Delhi, March 22 -- India's Sanjeev Rajput bagged silver in the men's air rifle event on the opening day of the ISSF World Cup in Sydney. The 29-year-old Navy shooter, who has never before finished on the World Cup podium, shot 98, 100, 100, 100, 99 and 97 in the qualification round. He then made it to the final along with team-mates Gagan Narang and PT Raghunath who also shot identical scores of 594 in qualification. In the final, Rajput shot 103.9, including a perfect 10.9 on the ninth shot, to aggregate 697.9, according to indianshooting.com.

"I am working on my equipment, there is still a 15 per cent fine-tuning required to reach the best condition," said Narang, who won four gold at the Commonwealth Championships recently.
