Steven Finn captured five wickets in an innings in his first home test on Monday to grasp the initiative for England on the final day of the first test against Bangladesh at Lord's.

Bangladesh, who resumed on 328 for five in their second innings, were dismissed for 382 just before lunch to leave England needing 160 to win with two sessions remaining.

Fast bowler Finn, 21, who made his debut on the two-test tour of Bangladesh in March, struck three times in 15 balls after play resumed on a cold, overcast morning.

Bowling from the Pavilion End, he removed captain Shakhib Al Hasan (16), Junaid Siddique (74) and Mushfiqur Rahim (0) in consecutive overs,

Shakhib guided a simple catch to Eoin Morgan at cover point and Siddique's patient innings ended after more than four hours when he was deceived by a slower delivery and lobbed the ball to Tim Bresnan at mid-off. Mushfiqur edged an excellent ball moving away off the pitch to wicketkeeper Matt Prior.

Bresnan, who replaced Finn at the Pavilion End, took his first wicket when Rubel Hossain (4) edged a low catch to Andrew Strauss at first slip. He ended the innings when Mahmudullah was caught behind by Prior for 19.

Mahmudullah had been given a life on 14 when Bresnan at third slip failed to get to his hands to a chance off James Anderson which flew over his head.
