Sahara India Financial Corporation have agreed a new deal to sponsor the Indian cricket team until December 2013 at a cost of 33.4 million rupees ($718,000) per match.
The deal was announced on Monday by the Board of Control for Cricket in India, who issued a tender for the rights last week, with Bharti Airtel providing the competition to Sahara.
India are expected to play between 140 and 167 test, Twenty20 and one-day matches during the contract depending on their success in competitions, which should lead to an increase in income on the previous deal.
The Sahara Group, which has interests in financial services, real estate, media and tourism, held the rights for Indian internationals for four years through a previous deal, under which they paid different prices per game.
