Panaji, May 22 (PTI) The Goa Football Association (GFA) will adopt a new constitution in July to avail the benefits under Asian Football Confederation''s (AFC) vision Asia Programme, GFA secretary Savio Messias said today. "The GFA has responded to the AFC''s requirements and has already submitted draft of the proposed new constitution to AFC, which then offered its comments," Messias said. Messias said the association members, in charge of drafting the constitution, were waiting for some clarifications which GFA had sought from the AFC. "The committee to draft the new constitution, in line with FIFA, AFC and AIFF, had several round of meetings. The final draft is now ready although, we are waiting for some details from AFC for quite some time now," he said. "It is proposed to have one president who will have full powers like AIFF president, two vice-presidents (north and south districts), seven members each from north and south Goa. The general secretary will be paid like AIFF secretary Alberto Colaco. He will have wide power and will be responsible to run the administration," Messias said. "We have a strong state league, a well defined youth programme, several educational programmes at the grassroot level. "Most importantly we have the government support, unlike Tamil Nadu and Delhi who faced problems and it is unfortunate that the AFC programmes had to be dropped," he added.
