Wellington, May 22(ANI): The Indian women's hockey team scored three second half goals to beat New Zealand 3-1 at the National Hockey Stadium in Wellington on Saturday, and seal the five-Test series with a match to spare.

Team India now has a 2-0 unbeatable lead as they had won the first Test, while the second and third matches were drawn in Palmerston North and Napier.

India had several first half chances to gain the advantage, but could not capitalize on their opportunities, while a first half goal from Piki Hamahona gave the Black Sticks a halftime advantage, and a hope of levelling the series, Stuff.co.nz reports.

The floodgates opened for Team India in the second half as Indian skipper, Surinder Kaur, scored from a deflection in the 43rd minute.

Saba Anjum then flicked in from close range in the 64th minute, followed by a goal by 15-year-old Rani Rampal on the stroke of fulltime.

The two teams will now play fifth and final test here on Sunday. (ANI)
