Durban, June 14 (DPA) Midfielder Lukas Podolski was named FIFA Man of the Match in Germany's comfortable 4-0 victory over 10-man Australia
Sunday.
The Polish-born left-footer was a dominating offensive force on the left side of the German attack and blasted home the opening goal of the contest in Durban.
The 25-year-old had endured a miserable season for FC Cologne, but he proved his critics wrong with a brilliant game in South Africa that earned him a 74th cap for the national side.
