Kolkata, Jun 10 (PTI) The West Bengal Government has taken up a scheme to renovate the Yuba Bharati Krirangan at Salt Lake and set up a ''special trauma center'' in its premises at a cost of Rs 7.5 crore. "While renovation of the stadium will cost Rs 5 crore, Rs 2.5 crore will cost to set up the ''special trauma centre," state''s Sport and Youth Affairs Minister Kanti Ganguly said. Besides sportspersons, general people would also get the facilities from ''special trauma centre'', the minister said. The minister also said that his department has made an arrangement of 450 giant screens in rural areas statewide for viewing of World Cup Soccer matches from Quarter Final onwards. To set up each of these giant screen would cost about Rs 7,000 to Rs 8,000, he said adding that the proposal had already sent to the Finance Minister Asim Dasgupta for his formal approval. The Youth Affairs department would also train up 5,000 school dropouts from remote villages in driving vehicles to make them self-reliant, Ganguly said. The trainees would be extended facilities like accommodation and food during their month-long training and at the end of it they would be provided with driving licence, the minister added.
