Argentina and Germany were unchanged for their World Cup quarter-final at Green Point stadium on Saturday with Miroslav Klose set to earn his 100th cap and Lionel Messi his 50th.

Argentina coach Diego Maradona confirmed Maxi Rodriguez on the right of midfield in preference to Juan Sebastian Veron, who starts on the bench again. Angel Di Maria was retained on the left wing.

Winger Lukas Podolski was included in Germany's starting team after overcoming a minor muscle problem, while left back Jerome Boateng was picked to start for the third straight match ahead of Holger Badstuber.

Coach Joachim Loew also stuck with striker Klose as his lone striker, with the player due to make his 100th international appearance.

Fellow striker Cacau, who had missed their 4-1 victory over England in the second round with an abdominal muscle strain was ruled fit and was on the bench.

Six German starting players and Cacau have a yellow card going into the game. For Argentina, captain Javier Mascherano and Gabriel Heinze were on one booking.
