Shivam, Vibhu triumph in chess c'ship

Shivam Shukla and Vibhu Bajpai, both from City Montessori School, collected a maximum of 5 points each to win the Black & White Inter School Chess Championship held at Modern World School, Lucknow. In the under-13 category, Vasu Bajpai (CMS) occupied the top spot. Adharshika Pandey of Kendriya Vidyalaya emerged winner in the girls' section. Nancy Bhardwaj, Sanjeevani Ratnam and Ria Kesari (all from CMS) stood joint second.

Moksha, Saumya winMOKSHA Thukral defeated Ananya Tandon 5-1 while Saumya Tandon beat Meenu Pandey 5-1 in their respective semi-final matches of the girls' under-16 singles event to set up a title cash against each other in the Lucknow District Junior Tennis Championship-2010 being organised by the RDSO Sports Association.

Football leagueTHE league match between XI Star and White Eagle of the district football league ended in a 3-3 draw at Dilkusha grounds, Lucknow on Sunday. As per reports reaching here, players of both teams "fought for quite some time over a decision given by the referee in the second-half of the play." However, president District Football Association (DFA) Satish Shukla claimed, that match had to be stopped for about 10 minutes due to arguments between the players regarding the referee's decision.
