Van Gaal to spend two more years at Bayern Munich

Munich, July 19 (DPA) Louis van Gaal wants to spend at most two more seasons at Bayern Munich before looking to coach a national team.

The Dutchman, who led Bayern to a league and cup double as well as the final of the Champions League last season, has a contract until June 30, 2011 but won't discuss a possible one-year extension until the end of the upcoming season.

'My contract ends next year and I am not going to sign a new one before then,' van Gaal told Monday's edition of Kicker magazine.

'I want to coach a country where I can win something. That could be Germany, Spain, Argentina so perhaps I'll stay here for an extra year until 2012 and then take over as coach of a country.'

The 58-year-old had been touted as a potential successor to Germany coach Joachim Loew and admitted that he really should consider leaving Bayern now if he wanted to have a coaching position for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

'Now is the time when national team coaches are being appointed,' he said.
