HQMC to host Inter-Services Chess Championship

Nagpur, Aug 20 (PTI) The 6th Inter Services Chess Championship 2010 will be conducted from August 23 to 27 by the Headquarters Maintenance Command, Indian Air Force (HQMC) at their premises here in city. A total of four teams, Indian Army (Red), Indian Army (Green), Indian Navy and Indian Air Force would be participating. The championship is being conducted to select Services Chess Team to participate in the forthcoming National ''B'' Chess Championship scheduled to be held at Bhiwani,Haryana. In all 32 players would be taking part in the National Championship. Group Captain J Rajendra will lead the Air Force Team. Indian Air Force Team is the defending champion and aspire to retain the title for the record sixth time. The championship will be inaugurated on August 23 by Air Vice Marshal Ramesh Rai VM, Senior Air and Admin Staff Officer, Headquarters Maintenance Command, Indian Air Force, a release from Defence PRO said.
