The NBA suspended three of its players without pay, including rookie of the year Tyreke Evans, a combined eight games for separate incidents that involve the league's drug policy and driving infractions.
Indiana Pacers guard Brandon Rush, a first-round draft pick in 2008 who averaged 9.4 points a game last season, received a five-game suspension for violating terms of the NBA's anti-drug program, the league said in a statement on Friday.

Sacramento Kings guard Evans, coming off a season where he averaged 20.1 points per game, received a one-game suspension for pleading no contest to reckless driving in California.
The NBA said the suspensions will begin with the first game of the regular season the players are able to play.
