Italian Alessandro Petacchi won stage seven of the Tour of Spain on Friday.
Britain's Mark Cavendish finished second in the bunch sprint that decided the 187-km stage from Murcia to Orihuela, with Argentina's Juan Jose Haedo in third.
Belgian Philippe Gilbert retained the overall lead for a fifth successive day.
