London, Sep 09 (ANI): Parents of Wayne Rooney hooker Jenny Thompson has publicly apologized to the footballer's shattered wife Coleen.
Mortified dad Hamish, 55, issued the couple's "most sincere apologies" to the mum of one and her family after he and wife Dani cut short a holiday in Portugal and jetted home.
"This may sound somewhat hollow, but my wife and I would never condone what has or may have happened," the Sun quoted Thompson as saying.
Oil engineer also stressed that he had "absolutely no idea" their privately-educated daughter had been selling herself for sex - let alone to the married Manchester United superstar for 1,200 pounds a night.
The dad admitted: "The last few days have been extremely trying for us and our family."
But he stressed: "Jennifer is our daughter and we love her and we will deal with this matter as a family." (ANI)
