Chandigarh, Oct 22 (PTI) Indian marksman Gagan Narang, who clinched four medals in Delhi Commonwealth Games, would be honoured by Haryana government at Sonipat on November 1, Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today said. Chief Minister, interacting with mediapersons at Rohtak, said Gagan had himself told him that he basically belonged to Haryana as his grandfather and great grandfather had been living at Samalkha in Panipat district. Later on the family shifted to Hyderabad. Hooda also hoped Gagan would repeat his CWG performance in the London Olympic Games in 2012. "The entire country was proud of the fact that for the first time India has bagged 101 medals in Commonwealth Games and ranked second," he said. The Chief Minister congratulated Narang. Gagan also thanked Hooda and informed him that Haryana''s sports policy was being discussed everywhere and the players were appreciative of this policy, an official release said. The shooter also said that he was grateful to Hooda for the decision to honour him. Earlier, Hooda had greeted Indian wrestler Ravinder Singh Sangwan, who won gold medal in 60kg Greeco Roman category at the October 3-14 mega-event.
