Lahore, Nov 5 (PTI) The Pakistan Cricket Board has threatened legal action against former South African coach Mickey Arthur, who had said that they suspected Pakistan''s involvement in match fixing in 2007. Arthur had recently said he and his teammates suspected that an ODI against Pakistan in 2007, which they won, was fixed as their rivals lost the match from a winning position. The PCB said in a statement that it would ask Arthur to share any evidence in this regard and if he was unable to do so, they reserved the right to start legal proceedings against him. "PCB has decided to immediately serve a legal notice on Micky Arthur asking him to share with PCB any evidence in this regard," the statement said. "If the evidence is not provided, PCB and Pakistani players reserve the right to initiate legal proceedings against Micky Arthur not limited to seeking unqualified apology," it said. PCB''s legal advisor, Tafazzul Rizvi said the board would be pursuing the matter with Arthur rigorously because he had indirectly said Pakistani players were involved in match fixing. "It is a serious allegation on his part and the onus is now on him to prove it, we can''t allow just anyone to make such damaging statements about our players and cricket and get away it. He must now come up with the evidence or face legal proceedings," he said. Arthur has already said that they did not have evidence about the fixing. "There was a strong suspicion of match-fixing and it took some of the gloss off the series win," Arthur had told website News24. Rizvi said the board has already consulted its international lawyers and would send the notice to Arthur by Monday. He said the PCB has a zero tolerance policy towards corruption in Cricket and will deal with any news concerning Pakistani Players with utmost importance and due care. Pakistan''s former skipper Shoaib Malik, who was captain in that particular game, also described Arthur''s claims as ridiculous before leaving for Hong Kong to play in the super sixes tournament. Pakistan cricket has been hit hard by fixing claims over the years and at present three of their top players, Salman Butt, Mohammed Asif and Mohammad Aamer stand suspended by the ICC for alleged spot fixing during the recent tour to England.
