Gaurav Zende, member of the Deccan Pistol and Rifle Club - affiliated to the Maharashtra Rifle Association, won two gold medals in the junior and senior category at the air pistol event.
The Maharashtra Rifle Association conducted the 14th Cat S J Ezikiel memorial Maharashtra state shooting championship from October 25 to 31 at Mumbai.
A release issued here said that Zende created a record score of 376/400. The achievement is unique as he was competing with shooters from the National Defence Academy and Army.
He qualified for the pre national tournament and is training under national player Tosif Sayyed.
The club members train at the Balewadi Shooting complex which has helped improve their performance.
Among the shooters who have qualified for the All India G V Mavlankar shooting championship includes Harish Walke, Amit Moghal, Daidipya Ghodnadikar, Kamlesh Sonawane, Nikhil Moharir, Yashodhan Mane, Raviraj Shinde and Hrishikesh Pundlik, the release added.
