UP, Orissa Ranji teams to practise today

The Uttar Pradesh and Orissa Ranji teams will be arriving in the state capital on Monday ahead of their Ranji Trophy match which will take place at Dr Akhilesh Das Stadium from November 10 to 13. Both the teams will be practising at the venue from 2.30 pm on Monday.

Talking to The Indian Express, sports in charge of the Das Stadium, Ajai Arora said, " Two practice pitches are available at different corners of the ground. So both the teams can practice simultaneously. I have been told by Cricket Association Lucknow (CAL) that the UP team will be practising from 2.30 pm."

Both UP and Orissa have collected three points each. Though Mohammad Kaif led UP settled for a draw against Punjab in is first match held at Meerut from November 1 to 4 but managed to get three points by virtue of a first innings lead. SS Das lead Orissa's match against Baroda too ended in a draw but Orissa too collected three points because of the 1st innings lead.

Sources informed that UP players Digvijay Singh and Bhuvneshwar Kumar are not likely to be available for the second match as they will be taking part in the under-22 tournament at Mumbai.
