Pune FC trounce Viva Kerala

Kozhikode, Jan 24 (PTI) Viva Kerala suffered a frustrating 0-3 defeat in the ONGC I-League match much to the disappointment of the home crowd despite trying to stage a spirited come back at the floodlit Corporation Stadium grounds here this evening. The first goal for the visitors was struck by the man of the match Arata Izumi who beautifully headed a pass by Godwin Franco at the 16th minute unnerving to the dominating Viva Kerala men in the first half game. Izumo struck the crucial second goal in a similar fashion by converting a pass from Shanmughan at the 54th minute. Finishing their victory in style, the third goal for the Pune men came at 89th minute as Sergi Totov struck at the Viva Kerala goal mouth. Although Reuben Senyo tried to salvage the pride of the host team, the Pune team virtually encircled him in the latter half of the spirted match. Viva Kerala would take on Air India in the next home ground match here on January 28.
