Day two of Zest 2010 saw plenty of sporting action, much like the first day at the College of Engineering, Pune grounds.
In the tennis individual matches, home team CoEP had mixed luck, as top seed Tejas Chaukulkar thrashed Siddharth Sahare of DY Patil 7-0, but Gaurav Mehta fell to Aadish Sardesai of VIT 7-1.
Rohan Chhajed, also of VIT, won his match against Sanket Patil of RSCOE 7-2.
In the team event, both CoEP (A) and CoEP (B) secured easy 2-0 victories against their respective opponents RSCOE and KIT Kolhapur, while VIT beat archrivals MIT 2-0.
In basketball, TKIET Warnanagar edged out KK Wagh College 54-52 and Modern College of Engineering thrashed RIT 61-23. In the girls basketball event, AISSMS beat AIT 22-10.
VIT exerted their supremacy in the football arena as well, with both their teams winning their matches against SIT and MITCOE.
VJTI, SCOE and DJ Sanghvi were the other victorious teams.
The Sanjeevani College volleyball team from Kopargaon upset MIT 2-0, while VJTI beat BPCOE-Wardha and VIIT lost to PVPIT, said a press note issued here.
