New Delhi, March 12 (IANS) Indian archers continued their fine run in the Invitational World Archery by bagging two gold, four silvers and three bronze on the fourth day of the tournament here Friday.
In the recurve event, Indian archers swept all the three medals in both the men's and women's ection.
Tarundeep Rai (24, 26, 29, 29) defeated compatriot Kapil (26, 24, 26, 25) to bag the gold in the men's recurve section. Rahul Banerjee (28, 28, 27, 27, 28) grabbed the bronze beating Malaysian Cheng Chu Sian (26, 29, 27, 18, 28).
In the women's recurve event, India's Deepika Kumari (28, 24, 27, 27, 26) clinched the gold beating Chekrovolu Swuro (27, 26, 25, 28, 25). Pranitha Vardhineni (24, 27, 24, 27,30) defeated compatriot Sushma (28, 24 27, 25, 26) for the bronze.
In the men's individual compound event, Malaysia's Muhammad Zaki Mahazan (30, 27, 28, 26, 27) defeated India's Sherpa Chungda (29, 29, 29, 26, 29) for the gold while the bronze went to India's Chinna Raju Srither (29, 29, 27, 30), who defeated team mate Rajender Isaiad Sanam (28, 27, 28, 27).
Germany's Marie Lucy O'Sullivan (20, 27, 27, 29, 29) won the gold in the women's compound event beating India's Gagandeep Kaur (27, 27, 28, 27, 27). The bronze went to England's Rae Nichola Simpson (28, 28, 29, 28), who beat Scotland's Tracey McGowan (28, 27, 26, 27).
