Bangalore, Mar 12 (PTI) Karti Chidambaram was today re-elected as president of the Tenpin Bowling Federation of India at its annual general body meeting here. R Kannan was also re-elected as secretary of the Federation. "Our goal is to ensure that India gets a medal in the 2014 Asian Games. That is the target and all our efforts are focused towards that. Our aim is to take tenpin bowling in all seriousness and exhibit professionalism in all our activities," Chidambaram told reporters after the AGM. "I can tell you that the present batch of talented bowlers that we have picked for the Elite Squad are all extremely serious and intend to bring glory to themselves and to their respective states and the country," he added. "We have sent 14 bowlers, 10 men and four women, from the Elite Squad to Malaysia for training and competition. Unless you train and compete on a regular basis, you can never hope to do well at the international level. "Our men are now averaging 205 to 215 and the women have reached 190 to 205. That shows that we have made some progress though there is a long way to go," he said. The following were unanimously elected office-bearers for the period 2010-2014: President: Karti Chidambaram. Vice presidents: Vijay Kalantri, Ajay Singh and Ravi Kanth Reddy. Secretary General: R.Kannan, Jt secretary: D R Sharma. Treasurer: Sreenivasa Rao.
