Sania 'crowned' by Pakistani minister

New Delhi, April 16 -- Indian tennis star Sania Mirza received the royal treatment from Pakistani delegates. The bride was presented with a gold crown as a special gift from the people of Sialkot, her husband Shoaib Malik's home town. Shoaib Malik and Sania Mirza's reception was a grand affair, which was graced by Bollywood stars, Pakistan delegates, corporate biggies, and sport stars. The reception was held at the luxurious Taj Krishna Hotel in Hyderabad, with Sania decked up in bridal finery and Shoaib dressed in an off-white sherwani. The guests had a good time enjoying the food and intermingling with an eclectic set of people. Bollywood actress Neha Dhupia was one of the stars from tinsel town to attend the reception. She tweeted: "Jus finished with sania n shoaib's reception, I indulged in some fantastic hyderabadi cuisine n some great conversations, great mix!" Sania received the royal treatment from Pakistani delegates. The bride was presented with a gold tiara as a special gift from the people of Sialkot, her husband Shoaib Malik's hometown. Minister for Welfare and Population, Firdous Ashiq Awan representing the Pakistani government at Shoaib Malik and Sania Mirza's wedding reception in India - gifted a gold crown to the Indian tennis star. Awan also bestowed wedding gifts from President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani.
